To be honest, the whole backpack china scene… it’s been wild the last year. Everyone’s chasing lighter materials, more modular designs. Seems like every other factory is claiming to have the “next big thing” in frame construction. But I’ve learned, after spending enough time crawling around construction sites, that most of it’s just marketing fluff. Have you noticed how many companies are jumping on the recycled plastic bandwagon? Good intention, sure, but the stuff just doesn’t hold up the same way. I encountered this at a factory in Dongguan last time – beautiful prototypes, all greenwashing, but the tensile strength was… well, let’s just say I wouldn’t trust it with anything valuable. It's all about finding that sweet spot between weight, durability, and cost, you know? And it's never as simple as the specs sheet makes it look.
